Construction of Cell 2a & 2b-2

This project aims to significantly enhance landfill capacity by approximately 6,000,000m3 through the construction and operation of new landfill cells across various stages. Alongside this expansion, progressive rehabilitation and revegetation efforts will restore the ecological balance post-construction, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally responsible approach.

The project encompasses a comprehensive scope of work to achieve the desired landfill capacity enhancement and environmental sustainability goals.

Construction of a Landfill Cell: Installation of a geosynthetic liner, drainage systems, and leachate pipes to ensure effective containment and management of waste.

Civil Construction and Landscaping: Developing the necessary civil infrastructure and landscaping to support the landfill operations.

Localised Demolition: Demolishing existing structures to make way for new landfill cells and infrastructure.

Bulk Earthworks: Conducting extensive earthworks to prepare the site for landfill cell construction.

Stormwater and Swale Construction: Implementing stormwater management systems and swales to manage surface water effectively.

Erosion Controls and Environmental Management: Establishing measures to control erosion and manage surface water runoff to protect the surrounding environment.
