The redevelopment of Union Court and University Avenue will see a major facelift to the heart of the Australian National University (ANU). The project includes the following major works;

  • Demolition of existing structures
  • Major services diversions
  • 13,500m2 basement carpark
  • Construction of seven new buildings
  • Two Student Accommodation towers
  • Cultural and Events
  • Student Services
  • Teaching
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • 20m and 25m Pool with gym facilities
  • Re-grading, new road ways and landscaping of University Avenue
  • Amphitheatre and new pond to Sullivan’s Creek
  • Landscaped public realm adjoining all new buildings, Sullivan’s Creek and University Avenue

The project is located within the heart of the ANU Campus and is located within the easternmost section of the ANU campus and adjacent the western side of Canberra’s CBD.

DECC’s Scope of Works included:

  • Basement excavation (50,000m3)
  • Site Retention (anchors, piles, capping beam)
  • Foundation piles
  • Roads and Stormwater Infrastructure
  • Demolition of redundant buildings including hazmat removal
  • All works carried out within a live operating University Campus environment.
